The Force

I have been asking and learning about how new leaders/managers/coaches can effectively take over existing teams. I would greatly appreciate if you would answer this quick survey about what you would want someone to do if he/she became your new boss/leader/coach today. Also, if you have experience taking over a new/existing team, I would love to hear about what worked or didn’t work.

As The Rise of Skywalker approaches in less than 2 weeks, I was thinking about the force and how it relates to our lives. Here is a short lesson with inspiration from Luke and Yoda.

In The Last Jedi, Rey thinks the force is a power the Jedi possess that lets them control people and make things float. Luke properly explains, “It is not a power you have. It is not about lifting rocks. It is the energy between all things. The energy, the tension, that balance that binds the universe together.”

The force has two sides: light and dark. The Jedi fight for the light while the Sith gain power from the dark side. The dark side channels intense passion, strength, power and victory. The light channels peace, knowledge, serenity, and harmony. The light needs the dark and the dark needs the light to remain in balance.

The Holy Spirit is a force of kinds that we can connect to every day. When we take time to spend time with God, we are able to better recognize how the Holy Spirit is moving around us. The Holy Spirit will show us peace and love while the devil will challenge with temptation, comfort, and rage.

Spend time meditating this week. Be still. Feel. Sense the conflict inside of you and feel the balance. When you recognize the good and see what is challenging it, you will be in a better state to take on the opposition.

See your dreams and listen to your callings. Recognize the doubt and know what stands against you. Once you level up, the boss gets bigger. The stronger the light, the stronger the darkness will fight against you. As you grow more confident and gain traction in your direction, abilities and callings, you will face greater situations of doubt and conflict to reach them.

You have a choice between the light and the dark. You don’t need every move planned out or to be perfect. All you can do is the next right thing. You probably won’t be able to use Jedi mind tricks on your enemies or make your car fly, but you can channel the ability to show peace and serenity in your life.

May the force be with you.

I appreciate you.
