Attitude and Effort 4-2-18

You are going to have situations that are less than ideal. You are going to have moments where you are upset. You are going to be challenged in ways that you won’t expect. In every situation, you can always control two things: Attitude and Effort.

You won’t be able to control every aspect of your life, but you can focus on what you can control. Attitude and Effort.

If you are presented with a seemingly impossible time frame to finish a work project or school assignment, how are you going to approach it? Are you going to let your anger and anxiety take control of the situation and complain to the people around you to try and gain some sympathy? Or are you going to relax, collect yourself and treat the short deadline as a challenge that will make you better? You control your attitude in this situation. Each mindset will yield drastically different results.

In this same situation, how much effort are you going to give? Are you going to sit around and wait until the last minute to finish the assignment to turn in average work? Or are you going to spend the necessary time required to turn in your best performance?

If you have a negative attitude, it is difficult to achieve your goals. If you lack the effort the reach your goals, then they are just dreams.

No one can take your attitude and effort from you. They will be challenged and tested, but you can always control how you look at a situation and the effort you give towards it.

The people who are successful have a positive attitude and give their best effort on a consistent basis. You may not be the smartest, strongest, fastest, or tallest, but you can still succeed more than those who are smarter, stronger, faster, or taller. If you show up and put in work every day, you will beat those who sit around and twiddle their thumbs. “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” If you show up with a positive attitude, you are going to have an advantage over the person who thinks poorly of every situation.

When you are challenged, assess your mindset. No matter the situation, you will always have control over your attitude and effort.

I appreciate you.
